#133 03/06/2006 19:53 CET User-ID: 41 Group: Senior Members ...seems as if something went wrong when I checked in the tile because the neighboring tiles donīt have a proper border (I just noticed when I wanted to pick a second one)! Iīve sent an e-mail to the webmaster for HELP :-O... Sorry, that the others have to wait now...mea culpa!!!! #136 03/06/2006 22:59 CET ![]() User-ID: 1 Group: Moderators OK, the checkin tile was fixed. Everyone can have a go at this quilt now :=) #137 03/07/2006 13:42 CET User-ID: 20 Group: Senior Members Nice topic; I think I'll give it a try. #138 03/08/2006 01:25 CET User-ID: 20 Group: Senior Members The borders are pretty thin, considering the large tile size. Blending isn't easy here; I hope I didn't foozle it. #218 10/31/2006 22:01 CET ![]() User-ID: 1 Group: Moderators I think this is our best quilt yet. Awesome. #221 10/31/2006 22:13 CET ![]() User-ID: 21 Group: Members You guys and gals are the bestest! I don't give a shit #224 11/01/2006 05:22 CET User-ID: 20 Group: Senior Members I don't like the outcome very much. The tiles look beautiful on their own, but imo, no good trans-tile-image has evolved (except the river, which I voted best of the quilt for that reason). As I mentioned earlier, I think a larger tile size would have helped. Well, just my ranting #225 11/01/2006 14:20 CET User-ID: 41 Group: Senior Members I like it! And I think the size was ok. And it looks just like it says in the headline...like a thick jungle and not a Black Forest Cottage scene... #226 11/01/2006 14:29 CET ![]() User-ID: 1 Group: Moderators I think the tiles are quite large already, it took a lot more time than in other quilts. What advantages would a larger tile size have in your opinion? #227 11/01/2006 14:39 CET User-ID: 65 Group: Senior Members It is always hard to tell what is going on from the tiles you are working from. But the is half the fun. I think it becomes problematic when you are working with depth and scale of things. It is very hard to tell just how big or what is the exact perspective the last person was using on these mystery tiles. I think the outcome turned out well, and is about what can be expected with so many unknown factors involved. Plus I 'm sure everyone involved had a blast making this quilt, I know I did. #228 11/01/2006 17:26 CET ![]() User-ID: 2 Group: Moderators Of course, the edges could use some work. But that's the challenge with blind-tiling, and I think it's a lot of fun to be challenged to work with something artistically. Well, regarding the tile size: there are two really large zoomquilts waiting for new tiles... Role account for OnlineQuilt.net admins. Dunno why I wrote "tile size" :%) i.e., the tiles are pretty large, so the small border is very visible, because blending is done into a small fraction of the tile only. So it's possible to blend colors, but
