This is our first zooming quilt. How does it work? You only paint the outer edge of the tile while trying to match the edges of the inner tile. When you check in your tile, it is resized and used as the centerpiece of the next tile.

Yes, I updated the code to accomodate zooming quilts. Everyone is invited, of course.

Can you make it so you can check out inwards AND outwards? This would double the number of available tiles. Besides, I don't like the idea of drawing outwards wink

I decided against that for various reasons. Having two different check in formats is impossible in this state of the software. Drawing from the outside would effectively double the tile size, and 2048x1536 would be quite heavy to handle in any graphics program. The tiles are quite big as they are at 1024x768. Additionally, the pixel size for the additionouter edge would be doubled, making a meaningful transition even more difficult to achieve; also, the edges to be matched would double in length, which would be more tedious. And the inner border doesn't go away anyway, so you still have to leave the center empty.

Let's just see how this one works out. I will eventually write a fancy Flash app that allows smooth zooming.

Good idea. Hm, I don't want to clutter up the stats bar, but I added this information to the table at http://www.onlinequilt.net/users/

Yeah, I do. Tablet and relatively stable (but slow) internet connection.

And I'm also working on the tile; sorry for keeping it checked out so long. I painted half of it and didn't find the time to do the other half yet. Maybe today smile

Heh, you folks got too much time ;P

I drew some more today and got closer to finishing it - I promise the tile will make up for the wait!

I haven't gone into edge detail yet.

I'm going to be offline until Thursday. I don't want to hoard the tile in case somebody else wants to take a shot. I only just made a sketch.

If I did take it, I don't mind if he replaces it with his version..He did check out the tile first.
