Absolutely addictive! I just did 16 tiles in under 2 hours. Didn't even once have to continue on the edge of my own tiles. Awesome!

Hi Guys, I'm new here... this is a very cool site.

Anyhow, have a bit of an apology... I jumped on board and started to play... Im sorry to say that I was already in a number of tiles before they started to be revealed, where I realised I missed the concept of masking off the edge so that they blend properly. Learned my lesson, but sadly this was my test quilt, so please forgive the lack of proper edges.

While peeking around the internals of the site I saw that four of your images don't seem to have been uploaded correctly. It seems you uploaded the (empty) checkout tiles instead of your completed tiles. I found this error with the tiles #1179, #1010, #1156, and #1013.
Do you still have the completed images? Please email them to me at webmaster at onlinequilt.net, otherwise we will have holes in the quilt...

Sorry, my email server is seriously broken today, it may be a while before the email arrives. I cancelled the tiles; when I eventually receive the email and if the images still fit in with the newer adjacent tiles, I'll upload them for you.

That warning about not uploading your unmodified checkout tile should go into the intro.

No problem at all, and as for the unmodified tile going into the intro, maybe a tutorial link to doing proper edges, looks like mine are improving, but still far from the way I would like, or how good some others look.

I dont really understand what I am doing wrong. If I missed a link to a tutorial, can someone send it my way. I have never drawn using computer programs, I draw offline but this is a whole new area for me.

The "Introduction" button in the menu leads to a short intro on how to do the whole thing. There is a more comprehensive tutorial at the following URL: http://www.ice.org/index.php?display=tutorial&tutorialID=8
(That's the tutorial for tiles.ice.org, a collaboration project which seems to be defunct now.)

The key to the edges is: mask your edges so you can't paint over them. Select the edges and copy them to a new layer and then lock that layer.

CHET, this is really starting to become a bad habbit on your side. Could you please put at least a little effort into those edges? To me it looks as if your not even trying to blend them in.

And Mr. Admin, you should think about taking those tiles out of the quilt because one can get the impression that Chet is doing those mistakes on purpose or by lack of interest....

Unfortunately, it seems you didn't check in your tile correctly: the image was blank and I had to delete it. Maybe you checked in the unpainted downloaded image and not your painted version?
